A family story from the 70s

The magic of Biscotti Bizantini was born a few steps from the sea, in Ravenna in the 70s.

Here, grandfather Umberto, at the end of a long career as a professor, decides to retire to a small bookstore in Marina di Ravenna. Together with his wife Franca, he finds a special recipe inside a cookbook. From that moment on, grandmother Franca has delighted her children, grandchildren and friends with the delicate scent of these freshly baked biscuits.

A simple but special recipe

A genuine flavor like the raw materials always used in the family. A reason to sit at the table in company and get together during the holidays.

A true family story that is handed down today to create delicious flavor variations, while maintaining the iconic shape of the Mosaics and the unmistakable fragrance of Grandma Franca's recipe.

A journey born during the pandemic

In the midst of the pandemic we decided to start producing Grandma Franca's recipe, so special but also so difficult to make. It is right in the heart of Ravenna, in full lockdown, in an unused artisan laboratory that the Bizantini biscuits are born in their classic raisin-flavored version. Finally, after 50 years, a family recipe becomes accessible to everyone.

Byzantine Biscuits Today

Today, Biscotti Bizantini are synonymous with simple, healthy and genuine flavors that come from a family tradition, respecting the environment with quality raw materials and now also organic. From Grandma Franca's recipe, sweet and savory flavor variations are born that continue a long tradition of simple pleasures to share.
